CONCEPTUAL 1

This design is functional and provides the needed spaces for the project (Art Studio, Bedroom, kitchen and bathroom). The ground floor would serve as the workspace for the artist while the upper floor would contain the bedroom and bathroom spaces. The use of glass for the exterior allows maximises access to natural lighting within the interiors of the building. Brick was also used as a building material was also used to match with nearby buildings on the harbour. The green wall and flower beds in front of the building also serve the green space requirements for the project.

Sketchup and Lumion were used for the drawing and renderings of the design.

CONCEPTUAL 2

This second conceptual also serves the function of the project. In this design, the workspace for the artist is on the ground floor and living space on the upper floor (Bedroom, kitchen and bathroom). Both floors are predominantly glazed to allow the artist's visual engagement with the outer environment and the views of the sea. The studio room on the upper floor provides adequate privacy unlike the first conceptual, where the kitchen combined with the workspace on the ground floor. The exterior building material proposed is hempcrete (a zer0-carbon material, made of the hemp plant) and interior floors and ceilings were wooden. Green spaces were also provided in the form of potted plants on balconies at the entry of the building.
